Happy Birthday Addie!

Addie had her 2nd Birthday party at The Peak this year, which was a blessing for me considering I didn't have much set up & almost no clean up!! It was nice too, cause they provided a party planner that ran everything & provided party sacks/balloons for all the guests. The kids got to play around in the playplace & then came into a separate room for pizza & cake. It was great!! Everyone had such a fun time! I highly recommend it!

This year I took the crazy venture of trying to make a Barney cake. It actually turned out pretty well! I was excited. And Addie practiced blowing out candles all week for the big party on Saturday. So, cake time came & my party director thought we should open gifts first. I agreed. Unfortunately Addie happened to open her absolute favorite gift last (play food from Auntie Brooke). Then all of the sudden everyone was singing at her & she had to blow out her candles. Ever try to get a new toy away from a two year old & make them do something else?? Well, pictures describe it all . . .

Dave & Addie's Birthday night

Wednesday night, Feb. 27th, was the official birthday night. We played it low-key. I made Dave's favorite, Vegetarian Lasagna :) And he asked for Butterfinger pie this year ~ so we tried that out. Turned out good! I harassed him by putting 30 candles on the cake. Hee hee ~ pretty smokey afterwards!! But at least he could blow them all out! Then we opened a few of Addie's presents she'd been waiting for ~ cute girl ;)
